Widuz Takes the Global Stage: Named Top 100 at the Entrepreneurship World Cup 2025

Widuz is proud to announce its selection among the Top 100 global startups at the Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) 2025, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious competitions celebrating breakthrough innovation and entrepreneurship.
This recognition reaffirms Widuz’s mission to transform the built environment through bamboo-based engineered materials that unite technical performance, environmental sustainability, and socioeconomic impact.
Organised by the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), Monsha’at, and the Misk Foundation, the EWC brings together over 200 countries to spotlight entrepreneurs advancing global change. Widuz stood out for its vision to build inclusive, circular value chains that create meaningful impact across the Global South — fostering green employment, sustainable livelihoods, and regional economic growth through bamboo innovation.
At the heart of this mission is BVL™ (Bamboo Veneer Lumber) — a patented material engineered from renewable bamboo fibres and biobased adhesives. BVL™ offers up to three times the strength of engineered timber, 20% lighter weight, and a 40% lower carbon footprint compared to concrete and steel. Its versatility enables scalable applications across construction, design, and furniture — while stimulating sustainable industries from cultivation to manufacturing.
